Championing Diversity to Help Us Realize Our Vision
Promoting a Culture of Inclusion
To ensure an environment in which people feel valued for their unique
contributions and talents, we encourage our leaders and all employees to
develop a broad understanding of the different perspectives and contributions
each person has to offer. This knowledge enhances effective collaboration for
the achievement of common goals.
The following resources support and strengthen a culture of inclusion across
our global Family of Companies:
Affinity groups are voluntary, employee-driven groups that typically focus
on a shared interest such as race, ethnicity, or gender. These groups provide
support and networking opportunities such as mentoring, community outreach,
career development, and cultural awareness activities.

Many Johnson & Johnson companies offer formal or informal mentoring
programs to expand opportunities and support development of a diverse
workforce. A number of our affinity groups offer programs that match up new
members of our work community with experienced leaders who serve as
mentors.

Recognizing that education is essential for obtaining the benefits of
diversity, we have established the Johnson & Johnson Diversity University.
Diversity University is a dynamic online resource designed to help
employees understand and value differences and the benefits of working
collaboratively to meet our Credo commitments and business goals.

Diversity Minute is an electronic module designed to highlight various
aspects of diversity in a quick, convenient format for employees of Johnson
& Johnson companies. Each module explains, in about one minute, the
importance of a diversity topic to the employee and to our companies. Modules
also contain an interactive feature to measure the effectiveness of the content
covered and to provide links to other sources for a more expansive exploration
of the topic. New modules are distributed bi-weekly by e-mail to employees.

Our Office of Diversity and Inclusion was established to foster recognition
of our unique backgrounds, talents, and abilities as an important competitive
advantage within Johnson & Johnson companies. The leader of this office
reports directly to the CEO of Johnson & Johnson. The Office of Diversity
and Inclusion helps develop strategies to achieve the global diversity vision,
helps our operating companies share and leverage their best diversity practices
and reports to the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee on diversity
within our companies.
