The IRDP Experience
-
IRDP job offers include an individual development plan for each new hire. The
majority of the offers include a “rotation” in a Johnson & Johnson host
company during the first 12 months of employment.
-
International rotational assignments are hosted by Johnson & Johnson companies
and are chosen to meet the objectives of the hiring company and the
development needs of the individual. With or without the rotational experience,
the IRDP participant’s career begins with a customized, on-the-job development
assignment.
This experience provides them with an understanding of the business, and
prepares them for early career success. The emphasis is on substantive,
hands-on responsibilities as an integral member of a work team.

Training
-
Training is provided during the 12-month development period to accelerate
assimilation into the company and to develop participants’ functional,
managerial, and leadership competencies.
-
IRDP participants receive guidance and support from host and hiring managers
as well as from the IRDP manager. As a team they develop annual objectives and
a calendar of activities. This guidance and planning help assure regular
performance feedback and continual coaching and counseling.
-
As part of their on-boarding, all IRDP participants complete a blended
learning certificate program during the first 12 months. These programs
introduce the new IRDP hires to our values, structure, key processes, and the
Johnson & Johnson Global Leadership Profile.

Coaching and Development
-
During the initial 12 months of employment, participants stay in close contact
with an IRDP Regional Manager for coaching and continued guidance

Program Completion and Post-Program Expectations
By the completion of the 12-month development period, IRDP participants have
usually returned to their hiring company and, at the close of their first
year, have become IRDP "alumni".
-
IRDP alumni and staff keep in touch for several years to monitor individual
and program performance, and to provide career management support as needed

Qualities We Seek in IRDP Candidates
We’re looking for candidates with the potential to become “ready now” for
success at the manager level within the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.
Candidates for the International Recruitment & Development Program must have
permanent work authorization in a country or region in which the opportunities
exist, and they must be fluent in English and the language(s) of that country.
In most cases, Johnson & Johnson companies do not offer visas or work permits.
Exceptions to this guideline are noted in job descriptions provided by the
hiring companies.
If you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence,
motivate, and lead others effectively, then we invite you to explore and apply
for placement within the International Recruitment & Development program.
